Legal
Acceptable Use Policy
Investigative software is consequential. A vendor that will not write down its limits has not thought about them. These are ours.
Effective 23 August 2026
1. Application
This policy applies to every licence of a WebINT product issued by WEBINT EXPERT PTE LTD, and to everyone who uses one. It is incorporated into the licence agreement as a schedule. Where the schedule to a signed agreement differs from this page, the schedule governs.
You are responsible for the compliance of your personnel, contractors, and anyone else operating a deployment licensed to you.
2. Conditions of licence
Lawful authority
Capabilities may only be exercised under a legal authority that applies to you: a warrant, a statutory power, a regulatory mandate, or your own rights over your own estate. The licence requires it and the audit trail records the authority each action was taken under.
End-user due diligence
We carry out due diligence on the end user and the intended use before an engagement, and again on renewal or on any change of control. We decline business that does not pass, and we say so rather than routing it through an intermediary.
Named accountable operator
Deployments are licensed to an identified organization with an accountable owner. Sub-licensing, resale, and transfer to another entity require our prior written consent, which we will refuse where the transferee would not itself pass due diligence.
Export control and sanctions
Supply is subject to applicable export-control and sanctions regimes. Where a licence or authorisation is required, we obtain it before delivery. We do not supply, support, or update deployments for sanctioned entities.
3. Prohibited uses
You must not use a WebINT product for any of the following:
- Targeting any person for the lawful exercise of freedom of expression, assembly, or association
- Targeting journalists, lawyers, academics, or human rights defenders on account of their work
- Suppressing political opposition, electoral participation, or lawful protest
- Targeting a person on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability, other than where that characteristic is a lawful and necessary element of a specific authorised investigation
- Use to facilitate torture, enforced disappearance, extrajudicial killing, or other serious human rights abuse
- Extraterritorial targeting of persons outside your jurisdiction without a lawful basis for doing so
- Use by, or transfer to, an entity subject to applicable sanctions
- Any use outside the legal authority under which the deployment is licensed
4. What the software will not do
Some limits are enforced in the product rather than left to policy. Deployments are configured to the rules of your jurisdiction, alerting can be constrained so that protected categories of speech do not generate alerts, and every exercise of a capability is logged against the authority it was exercised under. Where you ask us to relax a control, we will record the request, the authority relied on, and our decision.
5. Human decision-making
Our products produce leads, correlations, and probabilistic matches. They do not produce conclusions. An entity match carries a score and the evidence behind it precisely so that a human analyst can review and override it. You must not use an output of the software as the sole basis for an arrest, a detention, a prosecution, an adverse regulatory finding, or any other measure with a significant effect on a person, without independent human assessment of the underlying evidence.
6. Reporting a concern
Anyone, including a member of the public, a customer's own personnel, or a third party, may raise a concern about how a deployment is being used. Write to through our contact form, marking it as a conduct report. We will acknowledge the report, assess it, and will not disclose the identity of a reporter to the customer concerned without the reporter's consent, unless we are legally required to.
7. Enforcement
Where we have reasonable grounds to believe this policy has been breached we may require information from you, suspend support and update access, and, for a serious or unremedied breach, terminate the licence. Where the deployment model permits it we may suspend the deployment itself. We will act proportionately and, wherever practicable, give you an opportunity to remedy first. In an air-gapped deployment our practical remedies are contractual rather than technical, which is one reason the due diligence in section 2 matters as much as it does.
Termination for breach of this policy does not entitle you to a refund of licence fees paid.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes are notified to customers through the contact on their account, and take effect on renewal for existing licences unless required sooner by law.
9. Contact
Conduct reports and legal notices both go through our
contact form. We do not publish mailboxes.
